What InstantPay is
InstantPay is a hosted crypto checkout operated by InstantNode (Netherlands, EU). You create an invoice in EUR or USD, your customer pays it in one of the accepted coins on a page hosted by us, and the invoice amount is credited to your InstantPay balance in the invoice currency once the payment is confirmed on chain. InstantPay is a payment tool for your own goods and services; it is not a bank, an exchange or a custodian for your customers.
Your account
- You sign in with your InstantNode account. Every merchant account starts as pending; InstantNode reviews the application (company, website, what you sell) and activates it, usually within a day. Test keys work while you wait, live payments need an active account.
- You are responsible for what you sell with InstantPay and for complying with the law that applies to you, including tax and consumer law. Illegal goods and services, fraud, money laundering, and anything that damages InstantNode or its customers are not allowed.
- InstantNode may suspend or close a merchant account for abuse, chargeback-like disputes, legal requests or a risk it cannot carry. Open invoices of a suspended account still settle; new ones cannot be created. A balance is paid out after the review, minus what is owed to InstantNode.
Fees
- Every confirmed live payment costs 1.66 % of the invoice amount. Nothing else: no setup, no monthly cost, no fee for payouts.
- The fee is deducted from the credit: an invoice of 100.00 € credits 98.34 € to your balance. It is fixed when the invoice is created; a later change only affects new invoices.
- Test invoices earn nothing and cost nothing.
Payments and credits
- A payment counts once the chain has confirmed it. A customer who sends slightly too little (within the tolerance you set, at most 3 %, 0.5 % by default) is still credited the full invoice amount.
- Below the tolerance the invoice is underpaid and nothing is credited by itself. For 7 days after the invoice expired you can accept the partial payment in the dashboard; it is then credited at the rate that was locked for the invoice, minus the fee. After that the coins are treated as an unmatched deposit and InstantNode credits them at the rate of the day on request.
- If a customer sends more than the invoice amount, the whole amount received is credited at the locked rate, minus the fee on that amount. The surplus is yours.
- A payment that arrives up to 60 minutes after the invoice expired is credited as if it were on time. Later than that the invoice is paid late: you can accept it in the dashboard at the market rate of that moment, minus the fee, or leave it and refund the customer.
- Exchange rates are locked when the customer picks a coin. InstantNode carries the rate risk of a payment made in time; you always receive at least the invoice amount in EUR or USD for a full payment made in time.
Payouts
- You choose the coin you are paid out in (SOL by default; also stablecoins, ETH, BNB, POL, TRX, BTC and LTC) and the wallet address for it in the dashboard. Payouts go only to that address. A new address has to be 24 hours old before it can receive a payout.
- Minimum 10 € (or $) per payout, at most 2,000 per day, one open payout at a time. Requests up to 500 € are sent automatically; larger ones are checked by InstantNode first. You can let the dashboard request payouts by itself once your balance reaches a threshold.
- The crypto amount is fixed at approval at the market rate of that moment; the network fee of the transfer is taken out of it, and the dashboard shows both before you confirm. Once sent on chain, a payout is final. InstantNode cannot recall coins sent to the address you provided.
Refunds are yours
- Refunds, returns and cancellations are between you and your customer, in whatever way you agree with them. InstantNode does not mediate disputes and cannot reverse a crypto payment.
- The dashboard has a refund tool: you name the amount and the customer's address, the fiat amount leaves your balance at once and the coins are sent from InstantNode's wallet, minus the network fee. Refunds up to 200 € go out by themselves once your account has been active for 30 days; others are checked by InstantNode first. A refund is final once sent; a failed refund is credited back. Test invoices cannot be refunded.
- The fee on the original payment is not returned when you refund it.
Data and integration
- InstantNode stores the data needed to run the service: your application (company, country, VAT id, what you sell), invoices, addresses, transactions, your webhook endpoints, the e-mail of a customer when you or they provide it for a receipt, and the devices you sign in from. The InstantNode privacy policy applies. You can download everything as a zip from the dashboard.
- Keep your secret API keys and webhook secrets secret. Anything done with your keys counts as done by you. Rotate them in the dashboard if you suspect a leak.
- You can close the account in the dashboard once the balance is zero and nothing is open. Keys and endpoints stop at once; the records stay for as long as the law requires.
Liability and changes
- InstantPay is provided as it is, with reasonable care but without a guarantee of uninterrupted availability. InstantNode is not liable for losses caused by chain congestion, a wallet you control, a wrong address, or a coin's price moving.
- InstantNode may change these terms. You will be told by e-mail and asked to accept the new version the next time you open the dashboard; until then the dashboard shows nothing else, while your API keys and webhooks keep working.
- Dutch law applies. Questions go to [email protected].
